Embarking on an Adventure
I am so excited to begin sharing this blog that I’ve been holding so close to my heart this past year.
Writing has been such an important outlet for me since as long as I can remember. It’s always been a creative outlet, for poems, stories, songs, visualization, to then using it as an integration tool to process emotions or experiences. It’s always been there. Literally, one of my biggest support systems.
Life can be complicated- like it’s one grand adventure. You take off, you venture into the unknown. Somehow, you arrive at your destination, one way or another, and maybe it’s not always what you thought it would be like.
Sometimes the adventure is traveling across the world all by yourself. Or deciding to invest big dollars into something you’re passionate about. Maybe it’s deciding to try a new hobby. Or running a marathon. Moving across the country to a new city. Meeting someone new and then finding the courage to ask them for coffee. Pivoting career paths. It could be letting go of an unaligned habit. Having a serious conversation with your loved one. Or maybe, it’s processing that feeling of sadness that’s been weighing you down for awhile. Grieving a relationship that didn’t work out. Allowing yourself to feel. Maybe it’s remembering to take care of yourself. To go inward, to rest. Maybe it’s surrendering to the unknown. To be where your feet are and soak in the present moment, because maybe, it’s all we have. Trusting your intuition. Getting to know yourself for the first time.
And our lives are made up of all these adventures. Each adventure changing us, challenging us to grow.
Our 20s are a vulnerable time, constantly learning about ourselves, the kind of life we want to live, who we want to show up as, and how we want to be of service to the world. They are full of adventures that shape us into exactly who we are meant to be, no matter how “big” or “small” they appear to be on the outside. At 25 years old, I can say it’s been challenging, rewarding, messy, fulfilling, confusing, surprising, joyful, and so much more.
So here you’ll find a handful of experiences that have challenged me, motivated me, transformed me, and have allowed me to grow - no matter how difficult it was to move through. And my hope is that you find inspiration to follow and embrace your own adventures, pave your own path and follow your heart.
